A Light in the Dark*

When the night comes heavy,
thick as ink spilled across the sky,
when the wind howls doubts through broken doors
and shadows stretch longer than faith,

there is still a light.

Not loud.
Not blazing like noon.
But steady —
a small golden breath
refusing to go out.

It lives in tired hearts
that choose kindness anyway.
In hands that tremble
but still reach for another.
In tears that fall
yet water the seeds of tomorrow.

Darkness tries to swallow everything.
It whispers, “This is the end.”
It builds walls of fear,
covers paths in fog,
counts every mistake like a victory.

But it never understands the light.

Because light does not fight the dark
with noise —
it simply exists.
And that is enough.

One candle can defy a cave.
One hope can outlive a storm.
One soul still believing
can shift the whole horizon.

So when your world feels dim,
when answers hide and strength runs low,
remember —

you don’t have to be the sun.
You just have to keep glowing*

And the dark will never win*

“The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.” — John 1:5
