On a rainy day, soft and slow,
The world slips into a gentle flow.
Clouds gather close, gray and deep,
And lull the busy streets to sleep.

Raindrops tap in a quiet song,
Beckoning me to drift along,
To find some calm, a little peace,
Where hurried thoughts begin to cease.

The air is cool, the light subdued,
Inviting me to change my mood.
Wrapped in a cozy, warm embrace,
Time seems to slow its frantic pace.

With every drop that graces earth,
The world renews, finds quiet mirth,
And I, in turn, am soothed and still,
Lost in rain's soft-spoken thrill*
